The Family and His Family Council

Defined as the strategic body of corporate governance, is where the blood family, and often, the policy also, meet to explore and deepen their values, speaking of heritage and to put the company into the path of professionalism.

 

This is where individual expectations come together in a shared family project that will help them to transcend their legacy from one generation to the next. Among the activities and systems we have designed differ:

The family council is the beginning, and end, of the corporate governance bodies of a professionalized business family who want to see transcend their legacy to future generations.

The family council quintessential document, it is where all agreements to shareholders and their blood relatives, political and generational get when they shared their expectations about the future of the family, their heritage and legacy are recorded. Among the most notable issues are:

 

  • The values and principles of the family to the next generations.

  • The rights and duties of shareholders. 

  • The recruitment policy and family employee retirement, among other topics.

In Competitive Legacy  we help family to share their long term expectations  about their heritage.

 

We started to help them create vision, mission and system of shared values. Followed by a roadmap that will serve to align their businesses and assets with documented goals and commitments towards the coming generations.

 

To do this, we work with family members to develop skills and strategies used to control and manage  assets successfully shared.
